It follows the deadly accident involving the Vice President’s wife, Samira Bawumia, on Saturday.

One person was killed in the crash, but the Second Lady miraculously survived.

Alhassan Fuseini died on Saturday, January 13, 2024, when the car he was driving in Mrs Bawumia’s convoy crashed.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family and loved ones.

In a tweet, the Vice President said: “It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of Mumuni Fuseini, a staff in my office. He died yesterday from an accident involving a vehicle in the Convoy of the Second Lady, Hajia Samira.

“Fuseini was a hardworking member of the Closed Protection Unit. He has since been buried according to Islamic traditions. My condolences to his family and friends. May Allah forgive Fuseini’s shortcomings and grant him Jannah,” he added.

According to Asaaseradio.com, the terrible incident occurred as the Second Lady was on her way to the Ashanti Region.

According to the complaint, a sprinter bus narrowly avoided colliding with her convoy but slammed into two automobiles trailing behind.

Alhassan Fuseini, now deceased, was a member of the convoy accompanying Mrs. Bawumia when it collided with a bus at Ohene-Nkwata near Nobewam in the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.

Four of the eight victims were seriously injured.

Despite the seriousness of the catastrophe, Samira Bawumia was uninjured and suffered no significant injuries.

However, it is stated that one Fuseini, the second lady’s bodyguard, was killed in the accident. Fuseini has worked with the Bawumias since 2008.

Mourners came on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024, to pay their respects during Alhassan’s burial service, who was a loyal member of Samira Bawumia’s security detail until his death.

The solemn occasion honored his life, which was cruelly cut short in an accident on Saturday.
